Below is a link to the lesson plans for the unit "The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963." This unit will run through the end of February.
Listed below are the main objectives your student will be learning during the second nine weeks of school in his/her ELA classroom. Please remember that this is an overview and may be added to throughout the course of the nine weeks.

2nd Nine Weeks Syllabus
7th Grade ELA
Week 1
“The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”
· 7.RL.1- I can locate and summarize several pieces of evidence in the text to support my analysis of what the text says.
· I can define inference and explain how a reader uses textual evidence to reach a logical conclusion.
· I can distinguish between what the text explicitly states (specifically) versus what the text implies, or hints.
· 7.RL.2- I can determine central idea in a text and describe how it evolves over time and course of text.
· I can summarize what the text says without including my own opinion about the subject matter.
· 7.RL.3- I can analyze how a particular character is shaped by the setting of a story or drama.
· I can recognize the role a setting plays in shaping the plot of a story or drama.
· 7.RL.6- I can compare and contrast the points of view of multiple narrators or characters in a text.
· I can analyze how an author develops the points of view of multiple narrators or characters in a text.
